Job Summary

As a System Architect for IoT Devices at Giesecke+Devrient, you will play a pivotal role in designing and integrating end-to-end IoT solutions for global logistics and supply chain monitoring. Your daily responsibilities involve overseeing the technical harmony between sensors, electronics, firmware, and mechanical components. You will define technical requirements such as vibration resistance and sealing, select and qualify sensors, and collaborate with international development partners to ensure high-performance hardware. This role is unique for its cross-functional breadth, requiring you to bridge the gap between initial concept design and final system validation. You will also serve as a technical representative for senior leadership in ongoing projects, ensuring that innovative security technologies meet the rigorous demands of industrial environments. It is an ideal position for a hands-on professional who enjoys solving complex technical puzzles and driving the continuous improvement of next-generation digital security hardware.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in system integration, product development, or testing of complex devices or sensor systems
  • Experience with sensor and electronics integration, preferably within IoT or industrial environments
  • Proven track record in mechanical design considerations including material selection and thermal requirements
  • Experience working with external international development partners and suppliers
  • Professional experience in technical problem-solving and cross-departmental communication
