Job Summary
As a Data Scientist at finAPI, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Open Banking and Open Finance in Europe. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve developing innovative data-driven financial products, specifically focusing on the analysis of online banking transaction data. You will conduct exploratory data analysis, build statistical and machine learning models, and collaborate closely with Data Engineers to scale cloud-based data infrastructure within AWS. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and business acumen as you work with product management to translate requirements into actionable data intelligence solutions. What makes this position unique is the 'Remote-First' culture, offering significant flexibility with only one mandatory office day per month and the possibility of workations. You will be part of a flat-hierarchy environment where your ideas directly influence products used by over 400 clients, including major banks and fintechs, making a tangible impact on the financial technology landscape.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Informatics (Wirtschaftsinformatik), or a comparable qualification with a focus on Data Science.
Experience
- Professional experience in the field of Data Science
- Previous experience in the Fintech industry is highly preferred
- Practical experience in software development
- Experience working with AWS environments and tools like Amazon SageMaker
- Experience in exploratory data analysis of transaction or financial data
