Job Summary
The Max Rubner-Institut is seeking a Chemical Technical Assistant for its Institute for Safety and Quality of Cereal in Detmold. This role is part of the 'KaProBast' research project, which focuses on enhancing the nutritional value of potato products using sustainable fibers. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between food technology and analytical chemistry, performing practical extractions and model experiments. Key duties include conducting instrumental analysis (HPLC, GC-MS) for substances like polysaccharides, lipids, and acrylamide, as well as supervising guest researchers and students in laboratory equipment use. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a federal research network dedicated to public health and food safety. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician (Chemielaborant), Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience as a Chemical Laboratory Technician or Chemical Technical Assistant
- Practical experience in instrumental analysis, specifically HPLC and computer-aided data evaluation
- Experience in food analysis, particularly carbohydrates and contaminants like acrylamide, is preferred
- Experience in the commissioning, operation, and maintenance of high-quality analytical equipment (GC, HPLC) is preferred
