Job Summary
As the IT Department Manager for the Rastatt District Office, you will spearhead the digital transformation of one of the largest employers in the Middle Baden region. You will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the IT department, fostering an innovative culture while ensuring the stability and security of the organization's IT infrastructure. Your daily tasks include managing a dedicated team, overseeing complex IT projects, and consulting with executive leadership on technical solutions and process optimization. This role is unique for its focus on modernizing public administration through the adoption of new technologies such as AI, Open Source, and agile methodologies. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Administrative Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in IT infrastructure, ideally within the public sector or complex IT environments
- Proven experience in leading an IT department or division
- Extensive experience in planning and executing IT projects
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership, personnel development, and managing change processes
- Experience in strategic thinking and analytical decision-making for complex projects

- The position is permanent and full-time (39 hours per week), though it is noted as divisible/part-time capable. Candidates must be able to work on-site at the Landratsamt Rastatt. Payment is according to the TVöD/VKA E13 salary group.
