Job Summary
The German Association for Water Management, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) is seeking a Policy Advisor to join their Policy Staff Unit. In this role, you will analyze and evaluate political developments at both German and European levels, specifically focusing on environmental and water law. You will be responsible for preparing complex political content for various audiences through briefings, background papers, and position statements. A key part of the position involves maintaining and expanding relationships with political decision-makers, ministries, and institutions. You will also organize and attend high-level political events such as parliamentary evenings and specialist dialogues. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Law, Political Science, Administrative Science, or a comparable qualification; alternatively, a degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering with relevant political experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in political decision-making processes at Federal and EU levels
- Experience in German and European environmental law, specifically water law
- Professional experience in policy consulting, interest representation, or association work
- Experience in preparing position papers and political briefings
- Experience in municipal organization or critical infrastructure is an advantage

- The role is a full-time (40 hours/week) permanent position. Candidates must be available for independent attendance at political hearings and parliamentary events. Location constraints apply as the role involves coordination with German and EU political entities.
