Job Summary

This role is based within the Bacteriology Laboratory of the Lower Saxony State Health Office (NLGA) in Hannover. As a key member of an interdisciplinary team, you will perform diagnostic testing for public health institutions, focusing on pathogen detection, identification, and resistance testing. Your daily responsibilities include processing clinical samples using classical culture methods, performing extensive stool diagnostics for gastroenteritis pathogens (such as Salmonella and EHEC), and utilizing molecular biological procedures like PCR. You will also work in a specialized S3 laboratory for tuberculosis diagnostics and contribute to the establishment and validation of new testing methods. This position offers a stable, permanent contract within the public service sector (TV-L), providing a meaningful opportunity to protect public health in Lower Saxony.
