Job Summary
The Justus Liebig University Giessen is seeking a part-time (50%) Research Associate to join the Food Science professorship within the Institute of Nutritional Science. This role, funded by a third-party project and initially limited to three years, offers a unique opportunity for scientific qualification. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and utilizing sustainable analytical methods and systems, including advanced chromatography (HPLC, HPTLC), bioassays, and high-resolution mass spectrometry. These techniques will be applied to analyze active substances, pollutants, contaminants, or residues in various matrices like food, consumer goods, cosmetics, and environmental samples. The position requires a strong background in scientific studies, practical chemical-analytical skills, and a keen interest in contributing to cutting-edge research in instrumental or food analytics.
Required Skills
Education
Completed scientific university degree, preferably in Engineering or Natural Sciences (Diploma or MSc)
Experience
- Practical chemical-analytical experience (HPLC, HPTLC, HRMS)
- Experience with physiological and biochemical assays
- Experience in publishing scientific research results
