Job Summary
This is a full-time, permanent position within the Office for Information Technology for the City of Bayreuth, specifically joining the Applications and Databases team. As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the administrative support of various specialized software products used in public administration, providing essential second-level support both remotely and on-site. Your day-to-day tasks will include managing MS SQL Server databases, configuring hardware such as PCs and scanners, and integrating them into the municipal network. A significant part of the role involves leading or participating in projects to implement new software solutions, utilizing Citrix virtualization technologies. You will also play a key role in the city's ongoing digitalization initiatives and the administration of web solutions. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Fachhochschule/University) in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field; or a degree in Administrative Informatics/Public Management from a Bavarian University of Applied Sciences for Public Service; or qualification as a State-Certified Technician in Computer Science.
Experience
- Professional experience in Windows-based client/server environments
- Experience with virtualization solutions, specifically Citrix platforms
- Experience in the administration of MS SQL Server databases
- Experience in the introduction and support of specialized software for German public administration
- Experience in project management or project participation for software implementation
- Experience in providing second-level technical support
