Job Summary
This role involves supporting the Finance and Accounting department of the Theater und Philharmonie Essen (TUP), one of Germany’s largest cultural organizations encompassing opera, ballet, philharmonic, and theater. On a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate will manage tax-related matters including VAT and foreign withholding tax, handle lease accounting for major venues, and oversee financial transactions related to ticket sales and royalties. Responsibilities also include managing rental invoicing for cultural events, performing general ledger bookings, and assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements. Required Skills
Education
Vocational training as a Tax Assistant (Steuerfachangestellte/r) or equivalent qualification in finance/accounting.
Experience
- Professional experience in finance and accounting operations
- Experience in handling tax declarations and VAT matters
- Proven track record in account reconciliation and general ledger bookings
- Experience working with public sector regulations (TVöD) is beneficial
- Experience in managing lease and rental accounting
