Job Summary
As an R&D Test Field Technologist at Driescher, you will play a pivotal role in the energy transition by advancing testing methodologies for low and medium-voltage power distribution systems. Your daily responsibilities include developing and programming PLC controls, designing automated data acquisition systems, and building specialized test setups for prototypes. You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and documentation of electrical and mechanical tests on switchgear, transformers, and cables (1 kV to 36 kV) in accordance with international standards. Beyond technical testing, you will conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), perform root cause analysis for product failures, and collaborate closely with quality assurance and production teams. This position is ideal for a hands-on technical expert who enjoys a mix of hardware interaction, software programming, and cross-departmental coordination within a stable, innovative medium-sized company committed to future-proofing power grids.
Required Skills
Education
Master Craftsman (Meister) or Technician in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in the field of electronics, mechatronics, or electrical engineering
- Practical experience in low and medium voltage technology (1 kV to 36 kV)
- Experience in the execution and evaluation of electrical measurements and error analysis
- Experience in building and programming PLC controls and automated measurement systems
- Professional experience in interpreting technical drawings and circuit diagrams
