Job Summary
This part-time (50%) Research Associate position at the University of Trier focuses on the 'ArTriSa' project, which aims to develop a digital platform for local nature excursions and biodiversity education in the Trier-Saarburg region. The successful candidate will coordinate the implementation of the online portal, organize and document nature excursions for diverse groups such as schools and families, and create multimedia educational materials including videos and digital guides. A key component of the role involves networking with regional partners, including conservation associations and educational institutions, and participating in citizen science initiatives. This position is ideal for someone passionate about biodiversity and environmental education who enjoys working at the intersection of science and public engagement. While not a doctoral position itself, the university actively supports candidates who wish to pursue a PhD in parallel with their project duties.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree, Diploma, or equivalent in Biology, Biology Education, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
Experience
- Professional experience or strong interest in the design and implementation of educational or mediation offers
- Experience in handling digital media, specifically web content or platform maintenance
- Experience in organizing and documenting nature-based excursions for various target groups
- Proven track record of independent, structured, and reliable work in a collaborative environment

- The position is fixed-term for a maximum of 2 years under the WissZeitVG. Candidates must meet the requirements of § 57 of the Higher Education Act (HochSchG). Location is based on the Trier campus with regional travel for excursions required.
