Job Summary
As a Fire Protection Administrative Officer for the City of Zossen, you will play a vital role in maintaining public safety and supporting eleven local fire departments. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the strategic procurement of emergency equipment and consumables, managing public procurement procedures, and coordinating fire safety events. You will act as a key liaison between the city administration, volunteer firefighting crews, and other public authorities to ensure operational readiness. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in public administration who are also active members of a fire department. The position offers a high level of responsibility within a dynamic environment, featuring a modern fleet of 35 vehicles and approximately 650 members. Required Skills
Education
Completed training as a Public Administration Specialist (Verwaltungsfachangestellte), completion of Administrative Course I (Angestelltenlehrgang I), or a comparable qualification. Must hold or be willing to obtain FIII-Group Leader (Gruppenführer) qualification within two years.
Experience
- Professional experience in public administration or a comparable field
- Several years of professional experience, ideally within fire protection or hazard prevention
- Active membership in a fire department is required
- Experience in conducting public procurement and administrative procedures
- Experience in communicating with volunteer organizations and public authorities

- Valid Class B driver's license required. Must be willing to work outside of standard business hours when necessary. Candidates must be active members of a fire department.
