Job Summary

This role is based at the Pfaffenhofen/Ilm production site of Daiichi Sankyo, a global pharmaceutical leader. As an Operations Engineer with a focus on Process Control Systems (PCS), you will initially play a critical role in the project phase for bioconjugation facilities. Your daily responsibilities include collaborating with project managers and external service providers to build and implement Siemens PCS 7 systems, verifying functional blocks, and participating in FAT/SAT testing. Once the facility is operational, you will transition into technical support, focusing on automation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis. You will ensure GMP and EHS compliance, manage CAPA processes, and implement system upgrades. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of mechanical engineering and digital automation within a high-stakes oncology and cardiovascular pharmaceutical environment, providing a balance of technical project work and operational excellence.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Pharmaceutical Technology or Engineering, preferably specializing in Biotechnology, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in the automation of large-scale plants within the pharmaceutical or chemical industry
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in the operation of pharmaceutical or biotechnological plants
  • Professional experience working with Process Control Systems (PCS) and Batch systems in a pharma environment
  • Demonstrated experience in plant qualification and international regulatory requirements
