Job Summary

This role involves overseeing the technical acceptance and documentation of fiber optic infrastructure projects in Essen. As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for verifying site measurements, auditing invoices, and ensuring all handover documentation meets quality standards. You will act as a technical advisor for complex civil engineering queries related to FTTx networks, managing communications with general contractors and service providers. Your daily tasks include project reporting, cost calculation, and monitoring the economic and timely progress of construction sites. This position offers a unique blend of technical field oversight and commercial project management, providing a stable long-term contract (ANÜ) with a hybrid work model (60% on-site in Essen and 40% remote). It is an ideal opportunity for an experienced professional to influence large-scale broadband expansion projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Required Skills

Education

Master Craftsman (Meister) or Technician (Techniker) degree in a relevant civil engineering or telecommunications field, or equivalent professional experience in network/infrastructure construction.

Experience

  • Extensive professional experience in civil engineering and infrastructure construction.
  • Proven track record in the billing and accounting of large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Deep technical experience with FTTx and fiber optic network planning and deployment.
  • Experience in monitoring service providers and general contractors regarding quality, deadlines, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Professional background in technical acceptance and handover documentation.
