Job Summary
This role involves leading the transformation of district heating networks toward a CO2-neutral future by 2045 for a municipal utility company in Radeberg. As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Managing Director to manage the conceptual, technical, and organizational development of energy systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing energy flows, optimizing generation plants, and integrating renewable energy sources. You will also handle project management, monitoring operational data, and navigating regulatory frameworks and subsidy management. This position is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys lean structures and short decision-making paths. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Energy Technology, Process Engineering, General Engineering, Environmental Technology, or a comparable field of study.
Experience
- Initial professional experience in energy, network infrastructure, or utility projects
- Experience in project management or collaboration with municipalities and planning offices is preferred
- Experience in thermal power generation or municipal heat planning is desirable
- Proven experience in structured, independent work and analytical problem-solving

- The position is based in Radeberg with no option for mobile work. It is a full-time (40h) or part-time (min 30h) permanent contract. Compensation follows the TVöD-VKA (Group E11) public service scale.
