Job Summary
As an Onsite Engineer based in Vienna, you will play a critical role in maintaining and evolving the client's data center infrastructure. Your daily responsibilities include the physical installation (racking and stacking) of servers and storage systems, managing the decommissioning of legacy IT equipment, and performing SAN cabling. You will provide 3rd-level support for server hardware and software, conduct incident management, and monitor environmental factors like temperature and UPS battery health. This role is unique for its focus on sustainability and the circular economy, as Evernex specializes in extending the lifecycle of IT components. You will be part of a global, multicultural team where you can directly contribute to greener IT practices while ensuring high-availability for critical systems through disaster recovery testing and quality assurance checks according to standard operating procedures.
Required Skills
Education
Completed technical education (HTL, technical school, or apprenticeship) with a focus on Computer Science/Informatics.
Experience
- 2-3 years of professional experience in an IT or data center environment
- Professional experience in hardware maintenance and service for major vendors (IBM, HP, DELL)
- Experience in decommissioning IT equipment and managing server racks
- Experience in facility management is considered an advantage

- Valid Class B driver's license required. Position is based on-site in Vienna.
