Job Summary
The City of Eckernförde is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their building department in a permanent, full-time capacity. The successful candidate will focus primarily on urban water management and civil engineering projects, overseeing the entire lifecycle of municipal infrastructure. Key responsibilities include the design, construction, and maintenance of drainage systems, sewage treatment plants, and coastal protection facilities. You will also manage the procurement of services for civil engineering projects and coordinate environmental protection tasks. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor, Master, or Diploma) in Civil Engineering with a focus on Urban Water Management or equivalent skills and experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in civil engineering or urban water management
- Proven certification in sewer rehabilitation consulting or equivalent qualification
- Experience in municipal administration is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge in pressure drainage systems, sewage treatment plants, and self-monitoring regulations (SÜVO)
- Experience in coordinating with political committees and citizens

- German C1 level proficiency is required. The position is located in Eckernförde and follows the TVöD public service pay scale (up to EG 11). Full-time hours are 39.0 per week.
