Job Summary

As a Firmware / FPGA Developer at HENSOLDT in Taufkirchen, you will join the Radar Concepts & Processing department, specifically within the IFF/COMMS Product Development team. Your daily responsibilities involve the end-to-end development of firmware for secondary radar systems, including interrogators and transponders. This includes creating firmware architectures, programming VHDL code according to strict coding standards, and developing VHDL testbenches for verification. You will also define low-level test cases, create hardware test scripts, and ensure full traceability between requirements and code. This role is highly collaborative, requiring close interaction with systems engineering, hardware, and software teams. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in FPGA development using VHDL
  • Proven experience with XILINX development tools (Vivado, ISE) and simulation software like QuestaSim
  • Experience in creating firmware requirements and architectural design
  • Professional background in defense or aerospace technology is preferred
  • Experience with version control systems such as SVN or Git
