Job Summary

The Berlin University of Applied Sciences and Technology (BHT) is seeking two Professors for Software Development to join the Department of Computer Science and Media starting in the summer semester of 2027. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching foundational programming courses and specialized subjects such as software engineering, DevOps, and software quality assurance in both in-person and online formats. Beyond teaching, you will supervise Bachelor's and Master's theses and actively participate in academic self-administration. This position is ideal for candidates who are passionate about mentoring young professionals and conducting application-oriented research. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science (or a comparable field) and a PhD with a clear focus on Computer Science. Must meet the appointment requirements of § 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (BerlHG).

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience outside of the university sector in a relevant software field
  • Proven experience with modern software development methods and process models
  • Demonstrated scientific qualification through publications in international conferences or journals
  • Experience in supervising theses or doctoral candidates is desirable
  • Experience in acquiring and managing third-party funded projects is desirable
