Job Summary

Join DESY, a leading international research center, as a Scientist focusing on High-Frequency Synchronization Systems. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing, maintaining, and operating DESY's femtosecond-stable RF synchronization systems. Your day-to-day will involve scientific investigation into low-noise RF components (oscillators, multipliers, mixers, filters, switches, amplifiers, attenuators, phase shifters) across MHz and GHz frequencies, exploring methods to enhance high-power RF amplifier efficiency, and engaging in electronics design, prototyping, system characterization, and concept evaluation. Required Skills

Education

University degree with a doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable field, or equivalent expertise and experience.

Experience

Several years of professional experience in the design, construction, and modeling of low-noise RF electronics in the MHz and GHz frequency range
Relevant professional experience in analog and digital electronics
Professional experience with modern RF measurement systems, CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer), and RF modeling programs (HFSS, CST, ADS, etc.)
Professional experience in high-precision RF synchronization, RF oscillators, and PLL techniques
Experience in managing large projects
