Job Summary
The Regional Finance Office of North Rhine-Westphalia (OFD NRW) is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Policy Officer to drive the digital transformation of the tax administration in Münster or Cologne. In this central role, you will be responsible for the conceptual development, coordination, and management of AI projects aimed at optimizing and automating administrative processes. Your daily activities will include analyzing modern AI tools, implementing suitable technologies such as Machine Learning and LLMs, and acting as a vital interface between functional requirements and technical implementation. You will lead projects from prototyping to rollout while advising senior management on technical trends and conducting workshops for staff. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the digitalization of Germany's public sector within a secure, permanent employment framework (TV-L E13), featuring flexible working hours and home office options.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Administrative Informatics, or a comparable field with a focus on AI and Organization.
Experience
- Professional experience in leading complex technical projects from conception to rollout
- Proven experience in the application and evaluation of AI technologies
- Experience in data management and analytical technical environments
- Experience in conducting workshops, training, and professional consultations
- Previous experience in the public sector or regulated organizations is preferred
- Experience with agile project management methods is an advantage

- The position is available in either Münster or Cologne. Candidates must be willing to undergo continuous training in dynamic technical fields. The role is suitable for part-time work and is subject to the Collective Agreement for the Public Service of the States (TV-L E13).
