Job Summary

This role is for a Fracture Mechanics Calculation Engineer in Erlangen, supporting a leading plant engineering company. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting safety and lifetime assessments of mechanical components using fracture mechanical analyses and simulations of manufacturing processes. This involves performing analyses with analytical or Finite Element Methods (FEM), leading research and development projects to enhance analysis methods, and evaluating component behavior based on analysis results. The position also includes project leadership for client orders and R&D for standard tasks, as well as evaluating irradiation monitoring programs. Candidates should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Mathematics with an engineering minor, coupled with initial experience in fracture mechanical analyses and knowledge of structural and fracture mechanics. Good communication skills and proficiency in German and English are essential for this versatile role.
