Job Summary
As a Polymer Chemist at Konzelmann, you will play a pivotal role in the synthesis and development of Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) materials. This position involves the complete lifecycle of material innovation, from the initial characterization and further development of material groups to the expansion of the existing materials laboratory. You will be responsible for setting up, commissioning, and advancing reactor systems across laboratory, pilot, and series scales. Beyond technical development, you will build and maintain strategic networks with polymer and raw material suppliers, define material requirement profiles, and identify unique selling points (USPs) for products. The role is highly collaborative, requiring you to support technical discussions with both customers and suppliers. Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree in Chemistry, ideally with a specialization in Polymer Materials.
Experience
- Professional experience in the field of process engineering for TPU production and associated safety requirements
- Proven experience with chemical and physical analytical methods such as DMTA, DSC, or FTIR
- Practical experience in setting up and operating reactors at laboratory or pilot scales
- Experience in material formulation and addition polymerization is highly desirable
- Experience in technical consulting and communication with customers and suppliers
