Job Summary
This role involves maintaining and evolving the 'Logic Mill' platform, a scalable open-access research tool at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich. As a Full-Stack DevOps Engineer, you will manage a multi-node Linux environment and a large Elasticsearch database while developing data pipelines in Go and Python. Your day-to-day will involve a mix of system administration, API development (GraphQL/REST), and frontend work using Vue.js and Tailwind. A unique aspect of this position is the opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), within a prestigious academic research environment. The position offers a professional English-speaking atmosphere and the stability of the German public service labor agreement (TVöD). Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in modern software and infrastructure development
- Professional experience with Linux system administration and virtualization
- Experience in building and documenting APIs and integrating them with frontend applications
- Experience with AI technologies, including Large Language Models and agent-based systems
- Practical expertise in training neural networks on GPU-enabled computing systems

- The position is based in Munich with mobile working possible up to 2 days per week. The contract is for a fixed term of up to three years with a six-month probation period. Salary is determined by the TVöD public service scale.
