Job Summary

This role involves working as a technical officer within the Department 7 'Plant Engineering, Circular Economy' at the State Office for Nature, Environment and Climate of North Rhine-Westphalia. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently developing criteria and concepts for evaluating and reviewing data for inclusion in the Information System for Dangerous Substances (IGS). Key responsibilities include coordinating data acquisition, further developing the digital information system, and creating concepts for its technical advancement. The position also entails advising various governmental bodies on substance-related issues and conducting training events. This is an excellent opportunity for a chemist or chemical engineer to contribute to environmental protection and public safety by managing critical information systems related to hazardous substances, ensuring data quality, and supporting regulatory compliance across various authorities.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diplom, Master, Magister) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering. A consecutive Master's degree from a scientific university or an accredited Master's degree from a university of applied sciences (with accreditation proof) is also accepted.

Experience

  • Knowledge of national and international substance law (advantageous)
  • Experience or knowledge regarding the needs of special user groups (fire department/police/environmental administration) (advantageous)
  • Experience in working with databases (advantageous)

  • Civil service qualification for career group 2, second entry-level position of the technical service (advantageous).
