Job Summary
This high-level leadership role involves overseeing the technical operations and strategic planning of the public safety digital radio network for the State of Brandenburg. Based in Potsdam, you will be responsible for the availability and statewide operation of critical communication infrastructure used by police, fire services, and emergency responders. Your day-to-day duties include coordinating IT-relevant tasks for radio nodes and applications, managing access network activities, and ensuring the quality and security of IT system operations. You will also represent the state in various regional and national committees. This position is unique as it offers the stability of a public service career (either as a civil servant or permanent employee) within a mission-critical environment. The role is ideal for technical leaders who excel in complex IT landscapes and wish to contribute to public safety through technological excellence and strategic coordination.
Required Skills
Education
University Master's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, or Technology Management; or qualification for higher technical service as a Computer Scientist.
Experience
- Professional experience in managing complex IT system landscapes
- Extensive experience in structuring operating processes according to ITIL
- Proven experience in IT security and project management
- Several years of leadership experience (preferred)
- Experience with public safety organizations (police, fire, rescue) and their technical requirements (preferred)

- Must be willing to undergo an extended security clearance (Ü2) according to the Brandenburg Security Screening Act. Valid Class B driver's license required. Position involves representing the state in national committees and handling sensitive security-related tasks.
