Job Summary
This role involves supporting the German Emissions Trading Authority (DEHSt) within the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) in implementing national and European emissions trading schemes. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing mass procedures related to the national Emissions Trading System (nEHS), particularly focusing on compensation for indirect burdens to prevent carbon leakage. Key tasks include reviewing emission reports, analyzing data, approving monitoring plans, and processing applications for indirect burden compensation. The position also involves conceptual work for the further development of emissions trading and communication with various stakeholders, including authorities and international actors. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or university diploma in Energy Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Administrative Sciences, or a comparable field.
Experience
- Professional experience in emissions trading, electricity price compensation, special equalization schemes (EEG), energy tax, or corporate balance sheet, financial statement, or tax auditing is desirable
- Experience in comparable enforcement tasks and activities is desirable
- Open to early-career professionals

- This is a temporary position covering maternity leave, with an aim to extend for parental leave. The role is full-time (100% of regular weekly working hours). The position is based in Germany, working for the German Emissions Trading Authority (DEHSt) within the Federal Environment Agency (UBA).
