Job Summary

This role offers a student the opportunity to join the Information Technology department at the Municipal Hospital Karlsruhe, the largest healthcare provider in the Middle Upper Rhine region. As a Working Student in the Service Desk, you will primarily focus on onsite support tasks, including the independent setup of monitors and PCs, as well as assisting with the relocation of IT workstations across the hospital's various clinics and institutes. The position is ideal for someone with a strong affinity for IT and a hands-on approach to hardware support. You will be part of a 34-member IT team managing a complex infrastructure of 2,700 PCs and 700 servers. This role is particularly attractive due to its flexible scheduling between Monday and Friday, competitive public service pay (TVöD-K), and a collaborative environment that values independent work and careful execution within a high-stakes medical setting.

Required Skills

Education

Ideally a student in an IT-related field, though students from other disciplines with technical affinity are welcome to apply.

Experience

  • Professional experience or affinity for IT systems and hardware
  • Experience in onsite technical support or workstation setup is desirable
  • Experience working effectively within a team environment
  • Experience in independent and careful task execution

Additional

  • Must be currently enrolled as a student. Availability for 15-20 hours per week. Initial contract duration is 6 months. Work hours are flexible within the window of Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00.
