As the Head of Facility Management and Building Services at Theater Erfurt, you will oversee the technical infrastructure of one of Europe's most modern opera houses. Your daily responsibilities include leading the facility management and building control technology teams, ensuring the operational readiness of all technical systems—ranging from HVAC and refrigeration to stage technology and workshop machinery. You will manage maintenance schedules, coordinate external service providers, and drive digitalization and sustainability initiatives. This role is unique as it combines technical leadership with a creative environment, offering the chance to work behind the scenes of major musical theater productions and festivals. You will be responsible for the main theater building, workshops, and external storage facilities, ensuring safety compliance and operational excellence in a paradise for technical enthusiasts. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Facility Management, Real Estate Management, Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil), or a qualification as a certified Technician or Master Craftsman (Meister) in a relevant technical field.

Experience

  • Proven leadership experience with a cooperative management style
  • Experience in managing complex building structures and technical infrastructure
  • Practical experience in coordinating external service providers and handling procurement processes
