Job Summary
This leadership position involves establishing and directing the International Office at the German Police University (DHPol) in Münster. You will be responsible for implementing the university's internationalization strategy, which includes building structures for capacity building, institution building, and international consultancies. Day-to-day, you will act as a central service point for university leadership, coordinate with European police agencies like CEPOL and AEPC, and support the development of international blended learning degree programs. The role is highly collaborative, requiring you to represent the Vice President in national and international committees and manage international educational events. This position is unique for its focus on police-specific higher education and the opportunity to shape international police cooperation frameworks. It offers a permanent contract, flexible working arrangements, and the chance to work on a historic campus within a specialized academic environment.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Master, Magister, Diploma, or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Political Science, International Cooperation, or a related field.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in international cooperation
- Experience in the field of education or higher education institutions is preferred
- Experience in organizing and participating in online and hybrid international exchange and research formats
- Proven experience in committee work and bilateral/multilateral cooperation frameworks
Languages
Additional
- English proficiency must be at C1 level or higher, documented by a certificate (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge). High physical resilience is required due to frequent domestic and international travel. Knowledge of German and European police systems is preferred.
