Job Summary
This unique role within the Federal Police Directorate Hannover (BPOLD H) combines technical expertise with law enforcement status. As a Police Technical Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the seamless operation of information and communication technology (ICT) used in daily police operations and crime-fighting units. Your day-to-day duties involve installing, configuring, and testing IT infrastructure, providing technical support to officers, and ensuring that operational equipment is always ready for use. You will also manage IT assets and strictly enforce security protocols. A distinctive feature of this position is that you will be sworn in as a police officer (Polizeivollzugsbeamter) through a specialized recruitment process for skilled professionals. This includes a comprehensive police-specific training program that blends theoretical knowledge with practical field exercises, allowing you to directly contribute to Germany's national security architecture.
Required Skills
Education
Master Craftsman (Meister/Industriemeister) or a completed vocational qualification in Information and Communication Technology (e.g., IT Specialist, Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, or Communication Electronics).
Experience
- Minimum of 18 months of relevant professional experience in ICT systems administration or a related technical field.
- Professional experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining IT infrastructure and systems.
- Experience in user support and technical consulting within a structured organizational environment.

- Must be at least 28 years old at the time of hiring. Applicants must pass a physical fitness assessment and meet the legal requirements for appointment as a police officer under §12 BPolLV. High physical resilience is required.
