Job Summary

This is a leadership role within the City of Delmenhorst's administration, overseeing a department of 22 employees responsible for public traffic management and regulatory offenses. As the Head of Department, you will manage day-to-day operations including traffic orders, heavy-load transport permits, parking management, and the monitoring of moving and stationary traffic. You will act as a key representative for the department in political committees and public forums, steering projects, and developing strategic concepts for urban traffic. The position offers a high degree of responsibility within the 'Planning, Building, Environmental Protection, Agriculture and Traffic' division. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor of Arts or Diploma in Administrative Management, Public Administration, Public Business Administration, or Administrative Science; alternatively, completion of the 'Angestelltenlehrgang II' (AL II) or qualification for the first entry level of career group 2 in General Services.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience within a municipal administration
  • At least 3 years of proven leadership experience and management competence
  • Experience in representing administrative interests in political committees and public meetings
  • Professional experience in traffic law or public order administration

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • German language proficiency at C2 level required. Possession of a valid driver's license is advantageous. Must be willing to work flexibly to accommodate political committee meetings. Position is subject to a three-month probationary period for civil service promotion.
