This position at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) focuses on the 'MY-CO BUILD' project, researching fungal-based building materials from renewable agricultural and forestry resources. As a Research Associate, you will manage field trials for industrial hemp cultivation and conduct laboratory experiments on the pretreatment of substrates using advanced technologies like cold atmospheric pressure plasma, ultrasound, and high-voltage pulses. Your daily work involves the morphological, chemical, and microbiological characterization of plant samples, data modeling of raw material properties, and publishing scientific findings. Required Skills

Education

Excellent University degree (Master's or equivalent) in Biosciences, Bioprocess Engineering, Plant/Biochemistry, Wood Sciences, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience or relevant scientific knowledge in biosciences, bioprocess engineering, or plant/biochemistry
  • Experience in conducting and supervising laboratory and field experiments
  • Demonstrated experience in statistical data analysis and data management
  • Experience in the characterization of plant samples is preferred
