Job Summary

As the Project Manager for MEP (TGA) in Cologne, you will serve as the driving force behind establishing and expanding a new regional branch for an energy-focused engineering firm. This role offers a unique blend of hands-on operational work and strategic leadership. Initially, you will take full ownership of MEP projects from concept to completion, managing energy concepts, schedules, costs, and quality across HOAI service phases 1–8. You will act as the primary interface between architects, specialist planners, and authorities. As the project volume grows, you will transition into a leadership role, building and managing your own team of project engineers. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional looking for high levels of autonomy, minimal micromanagement, and the opportunity to actively shape the energy transition through sustainable building renovations and green building design.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Building and Energy Technology, Supply Engineering, Energy Management, Green Building Design, Mechanical Engineering (focus on Renewable Energies), or a comparable technical qualification.

Experience

  • Over 10 years of professional experience in MEP (TGA) engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management/leadership
  • Extensive experience managing projects across HOAI service phases 1–8
  • Proven track record in operational project execution and coordination of external contractors
  • Established professional network within the NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia) region

  • The role is based in Cologne with hybrid work options. Requires deep knowledge of German building regulations (GEG, Fire Protection, Sound Insulation, DGNB/QNG) and cost group 400 (KG 400).
