Job Summary
As a Systems Engineer for Database Systems Operations, you will be responsible for the architecture, operation, and continuous development of Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Cluster solutions (Always On). Your daily tasks include performance monitoring, tuning, and problem analysis to ensure high availability and security of database systems. You will act as a technical bridge between IT and various departments, developing technical concepts and implementing functional requirements. Beyond database management, you will provide 2nd and 3rd-level server administration support, automate operational processes, and participate in on-call rotations for critical systems. This role is ideal for a proactive professional looking to drive the energy transition in a hybrid work environment in Vienna. Required Skills
Education
Master's/Diploma in IT, Bachelor's in IT, HTL-Matura (Technical Secondary School), or completed IT Apprenticeship.
Experience
- 2 years in IT with a Master's degree or Diploma in Engineering
- 4 years in IT with a Bachelor's degree focused on Information Technology
- 7 years in IT with a Higher Technical School (HTL) diploma
- 9 years in IT with a completed technical apprenticeship
- Professional experience with MS SQL Server and relational databases
- Foundational experience in server administration, virtualization, and networking
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B driver's license required. Participation in on-call duties for critical systems is mandatory. Role is based in Vienna with hybrid work options.
