Job Summary
This role seeks a dedicated Software Test Engineer to join agile project teams in Hamburg, focusing on ensuring the quality of integrated software solutions, particularly within Linux-based Industrial IoT (IIoT) systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating detailed test specifications based on product requirements, planning and executing automated end-to-end (E2E) software tests, and monitoring test processes within CI/CD pipelines using tools like BitBucket and Jenkins. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Computer Science or comparable IT training, coupled with fundamental knowledge of Software Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies and routine experience in automated testing of REST APIs and UIs. Expertise in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python is required, along with proficiency in testing frameworks like Cypress. This is a 14-month fixed-term contract (maternity/parental leave cover) starting May 1, 2026, offering a competitive salary between €50,000 and €80,000, opportunities for professional development, and flexible mobile working options.

Experience
- Professional experience in Software Quality Assurance methodologies
- Experience in automated testing of REST-APIs and UIs
- Routine in implementing automated tests using frameworks (e.g., Cypress)
- Desirable know-how in interface simulation using Docker images or Mockup-Services
- Experience working actively in agile project teams
- Ideally, experience with Linux-based IIoT systems
