Job Summary

As an Associate Principal Scientist in Biology & Assays, you will be a key contributor to innovative drug discovery projects within highly interdisciplinary and cross-organizational research teams. Leveraging your expertise in biochemistry and cell biology, you will develop and implement tailored assay systems to enable data-driven decisions. Your role involves critically evaluating scientific questions, designing strategies to link target structures with appropriate modalities, and developing test systems to investigate target biology. You will collaborate closely with disease biologists, modality experts, drug discovery scientists, and computational biologists to solve complex biological challenges using state-of-the-art methods, ultimately contributing to medical progress and patient well-being. This position requires a strategic thinker with scientific curiosity and a strong motivation to help patients.

Required Skills

Education

PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field

Experience

  • Professional experience in an academic or industrial environment beyond a PhD
  • In-depth knowledge of biochemical and cell biological assay development for complex drug discovery questions
  • Hands-on experience in cell and molecular biology, laboratory automation, and cell line development
  • Familiarity with a wide range of modalities for targeting different structures
  • Experience collaborating with computational biologists and data scientists
