Job Summary

This role is based in Augsburg, Germany, within a global leader specializing in large-bore diesel engines and turbomachinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting material-based initial sample inspections, which includes planning, sample preparation, and detailed documentation. A core part of the job involves independent metallographic sample preparation, such as grinding, polishing, and etching, followed by microscopic microstructural analysis. You will evaluate and present metallographic results to internal departments and coordinate additional analyses, ensuring compliance by reviewing supplier documentation. Key requirements include a completed technical education, such as a Materials Tester or Metallographer qualification, practical experience in metallography, and knowledge of relevant industry standards and quality requirements.
