Postdoctoral Researcher in Temnospondyl Geochemistry | Postdoc position (m/f/d) in Temnospondyl Geochemistry
Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde Stuttgart
Job Summary
This two-year postdoctoral position, funded by the DFG, focuses on analyzing geochemical data to understand the aquatic and terrestrial adaptations, locomotion, and life histories of early tetrapods, specifically temnospondyls. The researcher will be responsible for collecting and analyzing samples from temnospondyl taxa, associated fossils, and sedimentary rocks, primarily utilizing isotope analyses (Carbon, Oxygen, Strontium) and in situ element analysis via LA-ICP-MS. This role requires a PhD in Natural Sciences, Earth Sciences, Biology, or Paleontology, coupled with expertise in vertebrate paleontology and geochemistry. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a DFG Research Group, confront geochemical results with sedimentological and bone microanatomy data, and is expected to produce high-impact scientific publications and presentations in international forums.
