Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Data Engineer to join DB Fernverkehr AG, working through the internal personnel service provider, DB Zeitarbeit GmbH, in Frankfurt. The core responsibilities involve the end-to-end development and operation of robust data products and pipelines. Day-to-day tasks include performing operational duties, resolving CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures), post-processing data, and communicating with stakeholders. A key focus is on optimizing data products using SQL and Spark, building both streaming (Kafka/Event Hubs) and batch (ADLS/S3) pipelines, and preparing data in Microsoft Fabric Lakehouses using Scala Spark and Delta. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science or a related field, deep professional experience as a Data Engineer, and expertise in agile methodologies like Scrum.
