Job Summary
The Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) is seeking a Certified Electrical Engineering Technician to support the operation and expansion of the large-scale ASDEX Upgrade fusion experiment in Garching, near Munich. This role is crucial for advancing fusion power research, which aims to provide safe, sustainable, and climate-neutral energy. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing maintenance, assembly, and repair work on the Tokamak facility, creating construction plans and manufacturing documents, and managing the system during test and experimental operations, including monitoring and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate must have a certified technician qualification in Electrical Engineering and experience in areas such as high-voltage technology, millimeter waves, control systems (SIMATIC 400/1500, WinCC), and CAD. Strong German language skills are required, with practical English knowledge being beneficial.
