Job Summary

This leadership role involves the technical and disciplinary management of the Upstream Processing (USP) department within a biopharma company specializing in monoclonal cell line development for biologics and biosimilars. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing bioprocesses for international client projects, guiding upstream processes from early development to clinical application. Key activities include independent planning and coordination of cell culture experiments across various cultivation systems (10 mL to 5 L) and process strategies (Batch, Fed batch, Perfusion). The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams like Project Management, Downstream Development, and Quality Management, ensuring continuous technological advancement, adherence to regulatory standards, and the drafting of SOPs and customer reports. This position offers the chance to contribute significantly to the development of new products and applications, working with international clients in a flexible and supportive environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Biotechnology or Biology (Diploma/Master/PhD)

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience
  • Experience in personnel leadership (preferred)
  • Experience with cell cultures, ideally with CHO-cells and various bioreactor systems
  • Experience in a GMP environment (a plus)
  • Experience in developing products up to clinical application and large-scale manufacturing (e.g., 2000-L scale) (a plus)
