Job Summary

This role involves supporting the core infrastructure operations within the Würzburg Data Center, ensuring secure and high-performing IT services for the German Pension Insurance. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing data center infrastructure, executing complex cabling work, analyzing and resolving system disruptions, and maintaining comprehensive operational documentation. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-location technical teams, participate in planning and procurement of RZ infrastructure, and ensure compliance with stringent IT security standards (DRV, BSI, TSI, KRITIS). Key requirements include a degree in IT or a related field, or relevant professional certification (e.g., IT Specialist System Integration), coupled with current professional experience in data center basic infrastructure. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Diploma FH) in IT, (Business) Informatics, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering; OR comparable IT qualification (e.g., Certified Technician); OR vocational training in IT (e.g., IT Specialist System Integration, Electrician, IT Service Technician); OR comparable multi-year practical experience in the IT sector.

Experience

  • Current professional experience in basic infrastructure, ideally within a data center environment
  • Experience with racksystems, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and structured data cabling
  • Experience in identifying, analyzing, and resolving faults in power distribution and cable routes
  • Initial experience with DCIM applications

Additional

  • Willingness to participate in on-call duties, occasional planned weekend and night work, and readiness for security clearance according to § 9 SÜG. Occasional planned business trips within Germany (three to four times per year) are required.
