Job Summary
This full-time, fixed-term role as a Climate Protection Manager involves driving and coordinating comprehensive climate protection and adaptation initiatives within the Kaiserslautern district and the Enkenbach-Alsenborn municipality. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and updating the Integrated Climate Protection Concept, initiating municipal projects, and engaging diverse stakeholders including administration, politics, businesses, and the public. Key daily tasks include preparing proposals for political committees, organizing and moderating workshops and events on climate topics, and performing controlling and evaluation of measures, including creating climate balance sheets and progress reports. The role requires a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Engineering or Climate Protection), strong communication skills, experience in project management or sustainability, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. This position offers a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to strategically advance climate protection as a cross-cutting task within the public sector.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Energy and Environmental Technology, Environmental Engineering, Spatial and Environmental Planning, Climate and Environmental Protection) or a comparable degree. Other university degrees are accepted if combined with relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in climate protection, sustainability, or municipal infrastructure is preferred
- Experience in project management or sustainability is acceptable with a non-relevant university degree
- Experience in moderating and leading workshops and events
- Experience in creating and presenting lectures/presentations

- Possession of Class B driver's license is required. The position is a fixed-term employment for three years.
