Job Summary
This role involves actively contributing to and enhancing the company's enterprise-wide Data Warehouse (DWH) and Business Intelligence (BI) landscape. A primary focus will be the independent conception and implementation of solutions to migrate from the existing IBM Cognos system to Power BI. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, developing, and operating robust ETL pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), connecting and standardizing data sources (primarily MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and DB2), and performing analytical data modeling (Star and Snowflake schemas). The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in DWH architectures, excellent SQL skills, and proven experience in ETL development and performance optimization. This position offers the opportunity to drive critical data architecture projects and ensure a stable, high-performing, and future-proof data environment within a major European tour operator based in Dusseldorf.
Required Skills
Education
Solid specialist knowledge in Data Warehouse Architectures and Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable IT-related field. A completed degree in this area is advantageous.
Experience
- Experience in the independent conception, implementation, and optimization of Data Warehouse and BI solutions
- Profound experience in developing, monitoring, and optimizing ETL routes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Experience in modeling relational data structures for analytical purposes
- Experience with DB2, ideally in the context of IBM Cognos (advantageous)
