Job Summary

This role involves supporting and developing the computer laboratories, IT infrastructure, and server landscape (Microsoft Windows / Linux) within the Business Informatics lab complex at the university's Treskowallee Campus. The specialist will handle problem analysis, troubleshooting, and ensure the correct utilization of lab equipment by students, staff, and researchers, including assisting with practicals and exercises. Key responsibilities also include implementing data and information security requirements, creating comprehensive technical documentation, and participating in cross-departmental IT projects to integrate new technologies that support research and teaching. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Informatics or a comparable field, possesses strong practical experience in Active Directory, network administration, virtualization (VDI), and server administration, along with proficiency in German and English technical language. This is a crucial, service-oriented position contributing directly to academic development in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Business Informatics, Informatics, or a comparable field of study

Experience

  • Professional experience with Active Directory Domain and Group Policies
  • Professional experience in network administration
  • Professional experience in virtualization and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
  • Professional experience in shell programming and server administration
  • Professional experience in installing, maintaining, and servicing IT lab hardware
  • Experience in guiding students, potentially leading small project groups or workshops
