Job Summary

This role involves joining a team in Bayreuth to specialize in the commissioning and programming of cutting-edge Building Automation Systems (BAS), contributing to the creation of future-proof living spaces. The Automation Technician will be responsible for the technical commissioning of BAS solutions, spanning from the field level up to the management level, ensuring intelligent control of all systems. Key duties include programming control and regulation logic using graphical programming languages within the proprietary development environment, integrating external components via standard interfaces like ModBus, BACnet, and KNX, and creating visualizations for building technical systems. The ideal candidate possesses a technical education, strong knowledge of graphical programming (e.g., FUP, KOP), and understanding of communication protocols. This position offers an opportunity to work autonomously on Smart Building projects and manage the full lifecycle from installation to customer handover.

Required Skills

Education

Completed technical vocational training, ideally with further qualification as a Technician (Techniker), Master Craftsman (Meister), or a relevant degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in technical commissioning of building automation solutions
  • Experience with graphical programming languages (e.g., FUP, KOP) or graphical development environments (e.g., TIA Portal, Codesys)
  • Understanding of bus systems and interfaces (Modbus, BACnet, KNX)
  • Experience with HVAC systems (desired, or willingness to train)
