Job Summary
The City of Schwedt/Oder is seeking a dedicated GIS Coordinator to manage and expand their Geographical Information Systems (GIS), supporting various administrative departments. This critical role involves the full lifecycle management of GIS systems, including needs analysis, software selection, implementation, updates, and user training. Day-to-day responsibilities include ensuring data security, performing data conversion and migration (including ALKIS data), and providing technical consultation to optimize organizational workflows utilizing GIS technology. Candidates should possess a degree in Geoinformatics, Geosciences, or Surveying, or relevant vocational training combined with multi-year professional experience, such as a Geomatics Specialist. Desirable skills include knowledge of SQL, familiarity with systems like QGIS or CAIGOS, and programming capabilities.
