Job Summary

This role involves the development and optimization of firmware for embedded systems, focusing heavily on hardware-near security and production requirements. The developer will primarily use C/C++ (and potentially Assembler) to implement and integrate robust security mechanisms like encryption, Secure Boot, and Secure Coding, following a "Security by Design" approach. A critical aspect of the job is considering production-related requirements such as manufacturing, testing, and field deployment early in the development cycle. Day-to-day tasks include designing and implementing secure Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware update mechanisms, conducting code and security reviews, and performing unit and integration testing. Candidates should possess a degree in Computer Science, Physics, or a related field, strong experience in firmware development, and foundational knowledge of embedded system security concepts. Excellent German and good English skills are mandatory, as German is the primary working language.
