Job Summary
This role is for a dedicated Civil Engineering Technician specializing in property drainage and commercial wastewater management for the city of Buchholz i.d.N. The successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise to manage administrative processes related to wastewater regulations, including executing section 58 of the Lower Saxony Water Act (NWG) and the Wastewater Ordinance (AbwV). Key responsibilities involve technically reviewing and assessing application documents, drafting water law opinions, and coordinating, evaluating, and documenting wastewater analyses for approximately 135 relevant commercial establishments. Furthermore, the technician will approve commercial property drainage applications, maintain a geographical information system (GIS), and assist with the maintenance of the municipal wastewater network, including rain retention basins and sewer rehabilitation. This full-time, permanent position offers a varied and impactful role in public service, focusing on team collaboration and family-friendly policies near Hamburg and Lüneburg Heath.
Required Skills
Education
State-certified Technician in Civil Engineering (Bachelor Professional in Technology) OR State-certified Environmental Technician (Bachelor Professional in Technology) OR Completed Master Craftsman examination in Sanitary, Heating, and Air Conditioning Technology (e.g., System Mechanic or Gas and Water Installer) OR Completed Master Craftsman examination in Environmental Technology (e.g., Wastewater Master)
Experience
- Professional experience and profound expertise in the described field (Desired)
- Knowledge of relevant legal areas (NWG, AbwV, AwSV, technical rules, DIN and EN standards) (Desired)
- Practical experience in all performance phases of the HOAI (Desired)
- Secure application of public procurement law (Desired)
